New Song

When Brooke was in New York, I went over to Mima and Botow’s house so Olivia could spend the night.  On the way over, Olivia started singing a new song that I had never heard her sing before.  It was catchy and keeps sticking in my mind.  Here she is performing it the same night that I first heard it in the car.  I still don’t know what she is saying, but if I ask her to sing “Like hommy mommy” she knows exactly what I am talking about.

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas this year.  Livi was finally old enough to understand what was happening and enjoy presents.  It didn’t take long at all for her to become a present opening machine.  Brooke and I even let her do ours for us as well.  She got a lot of fun stuff this year, and paid us back by waking up at 5:30 for two mornings after Christmas (probably out of excitement and anticipation of playing with her new toys.)

She was very excited to see that Santa ate all her cookies, and even more excited to see that he left a special cookie just for her.

She loved all her presents.  Right now, the combination that she plays with most is her electric keyboard and sit and spin.  What she will do is put the keyboard on auto-play and then sit on her sit and spin and just go round and round for what seems like hours.

But feeding Piggy is pretty high up there on the charts as well.

Christmas Eve

The presents are under the tree, the reindeer food was sprinkled out in the yard, the cookies are on the plate, Livi is asleep in her bed, I have one glass of wine in me, the house is clean, we are ready for tomorrow.  Happy Christmas Eve everyone!!

Chili

Chili has been having seizures lately.  What the doctor initially thought was a spinal problem, then a neurological problem, turns out to be both.  The actual seizure lasts about 4 minutes, but it takes him a long time to recover.  He is now on an ani-seizure medication the he will need to be on indefinitely.  As of right now he seems to be doing OK, except he has bad episodes with his back at times.  We will just take it day by day for now.  Think good thoughts for our little BOY..

Giant Gummy

I got a 5lb gummy bear from my parents this year for my birthday.  Olivia’s eyes lit up when she saw it, and she wanted to take a bite.  I promised her ONE bite, but that was it.  She took off a little more than I wanted her to, but she enjoyed it.

Not the version you are used to, but Livi’s version.

Dry Hair Days

We have decided that since her new short hair looks too crazy in the morning after bath time, that she will get her hair washed every other day.  On hair wash nights, Mommy dries Livi’s hair so it doesn’t get too crazy over night.  The shower cap really only worked once.  Livi wasn’t too crazy about it, but I liked it.

Tree Is Up

Last week we finally got the tree decorated.  It was a busy week, but the tree is all decorated and Livi loves it.  She especially had fun looking through all the boxes of Christmas decorations.  I will get a picture of the tree later.

Christmas Tree 2011

We got our tree last Saturday night, however we were so busy that the tree stayed outside until Tuesday night.  Olivia had a blast running around the lot and shaking the branches to see how many dead pines are on them.

Saturday Morning Without Mommy

Brooke is in NY today, but left a few little presents for Lee for the next few days.  She was so excited when I told her mommy left a present for her.  She has been playing with the stickers nonstop.  She turned to the second page that had letter stickers and she said "oooooh, there are letters here"  then a few minutes later, "this is so fun daddy".  I now have a sticker on each hand, and Olivia has them on her hands and a few on her arms.  Thanks mommy, we miss you.

Cookies

Olivia has become quite the helper in the kitchen.  She likes to help anyway that she can.  She will run into the bathroom and get her stool so she can stand up tall and see what you are doing and try to help.  Last week, Brooke asked Olivia if she would like to make some cookies and she got very excited.  She was a great helper.  Another of her favorite things is making waffles.  She will help pour the ingredients, then she will watch the waffle maker’s light and let us know when it turns green (the waffle is done.)  Such a good little helper.

Ooh La La

Olivia has now learned about catalogs.  She loves pointing out what she wants form them.  She has also taken to pointing out things on commercials that she wants as well.  Welcome to Christmas Livi!!
