Puppy Bliss

Livi had a lot of fun with the little plastic balls that were in her new toy (video of new toy to come soon.) Actually, Lulu had more fun with the plastic balls than Olivia did, but Olivia had fun watching Lu. I must add a disclaimer, Olivia is often seen in her diaper only, and we are trying to change that, but usually we are hanging out at the house and meal time is never far away, so she lounges in her undies. This video is particularly "Whiskey Tango" because she is in a diaper and shoes. Just bear in mind that she would never go out in public this way (though it doesn't get more public than the Internet I guess) but Brooke was just having her practice walking in her shoes while hanging out at home. There is never enough time to say "Hey, lets get the camera to record this, oh, and throw some clothes on her real quick." That would be a definite buzz kill for Olivia.

Ok, some clothed shots for everyone!!

Wet T-Shirt Contest

The other night Brooke was ready to give Olivia her bath, so I got the bottle ready, undressed Olivia and took off the diaper, a typical night in the Spatta household. However, Brooke was not ready with the bath when I brought Livi in, so I had to stand and wait for the tub to fill. We were looking at ourselves in the mirror waving, when I saw something leaking. Yep, Olivia decided to pee on me. As soon as I saw it I felt it hit my foot and soak into my shirt. She was nothing but smiles. And so the circle of dominance continues. Chili pees on Olivia, Olivia pees on me. I am at the bottom of the food chain I guess. Maybe I had better pee on Brooke so I wont be at the absolute bottom.
Yesterday we were able to get ticklish Olivia on video. She is so ticklish some days, but she does have other days where it doesn't affect her as much.

Clicks In The Bath

If anyone has ever wondered what bath time was like for Olivia, here is a small window into that experience. We actually took this video because she was doing her mouth click that I mentioned in previous posts. She loves her bath time and is great at it, except when I give it to her, then it is party time. She tries to get away with all sorts of mischief. She stands up, she reaches for the soap bottles, squirms. Then when Brooke goes to bath her the next night she has all new bad habits. It is a little ridiculous.

Early Halloween

Olivia's costume arrived in the mail today and we couldn't wait to try it on her. Brooke took a bunch of pictures, but the costume is not entirely complete yet. Olivia seemed to love it though, except when she falls forward, she has quite a hard time getting back up. We will post more pictures as Halloween approaches, but here is a short sneak peek! Personally, I think it is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Plus, the dogs get a nice break from dress-up now

Rudimentary Tools

The other day Brooke looked over and saw Olivia using her fish tank as a small chair. She apparently just decided to sit on it as a comfortable resting place to play with her new pumpkin. Such an innovative little girl. Notice the spoon. Always has the spoon!!

More Crazy Faces

Olivia has been going crazy with her crazy face recently, except of course when the camera comes out. I spent about 10 minutes last night trying to capture it, and never really got a good shot. I would say, "oh well" and put the camera down and she would immediately do it. It is like trying to get a picture of Big Foot or the Lochness Monster, however, this face does exist.

Brooke brought Livi to the doctor yesterday because we have been concerned that she may have an ear infection. She keeps tilting her head to the right and rubbing her ear on her shoulder. So after 1 1/2 hrs in the waiting room with tons of other sick kids (even in the well waiting area) Olivia proved to have no ear infection. However, now we are wondering if she will be getting sick from the doctor's office. Oh well, we will see. There is no getting away from germs!

The Faces:

"What Did You Just Call Me?" Face

"Hunting With My Little Brown Friend" Face

"Don't Make Me Hit You With My Phone" Face

My Little Monkey

Since she did so well at eating the Popsicle, I decided to hold a banana for her to try. She did well, but still tries to bite off more than she can chew. She loves her bananas. And yes, Chili and Lulu still sit under the highchair waiting for pieces to drop.

Pumpkin for my Pumpkin

So I opened the door this morning to get Olivia up and when I flicked on the light, there she was sitting up in her crib pointing up. The pointing never stops!!
With Halloween looming right around the corner, Brooke decided to get Olivia her pumpkin for trick-or-treating. It is now Olivia's favorite toy. I was hoping that she didn't like it too much so she wouldn't cry when I took it from here when it was full of candy. I am soooo going to score this Halloween with her at the pumpkin helm!! I need to start running more just to drop the foreseeable pounds I will put on.
Oh, and look, that pumpkin matches her nose!!

Get The Point?

First, I forgot to mention that Monday was the last day Olivia had her Zantac. She is (for now) officially off of that. She was taking it twice a day since she was about a month old, and I should mention that both Brooke and I have tried a small taste of it and can't imagine how she dealt with drinking it with a smile every day. We hope that she can handle being with out it.
Olivia just yesterday discovered pointing, and I discovered what happens when you reinforce a behavior. While sitting on the floor, Olivia pointed up at a picture on our wall, so I said "You want the picture?" then picked her up and let her touch it. Then I put her back down. She then again pointed at the picture, so I obliged her again. After that it was all over. She must have given herself whiplash by turning her head so fast and pointing at everything she could. It became a game, point at what I want to touch and daddy will bring me to it. She loved it. And just to show that babies don't forget anything after going to sleep, first thing this morning after I had just picked her up from her crib, the pointing in her bedroom began. Actually, I think she just pointed to point but I followed her finger and it was more like "hot, hot, colder, colder" because the finger kind of moved and guided me. We ended up at the colorful border she has along her wall. She liked the alligator on it.
Today we will see where her pointing leads her.

Otterpop Time

Seems this blog is turning into more of a video blog than pictures recently. I decided to let Livi try my frozen ice pops the other night and she loved them. Now when I get one out of the freezer, she gets excited, laughs, and crazy crawls or crazy runs to me to share. She is wild about them. Constantly nagging me for more more more. So I always oblige.

Post For Sheri

Since Sheri had to work switchboard all morning, figured I would let Lu brighten the rest of her day!!
Update --Yes, I found her this way so I videoed it.

I present you Lu in the pillow.

Peeeeza

This weekend we decided before Olivia's bath to let her walk around naked for a while. It is her favorite way to be anyway. We took some pictures for our "tease teenage Olivia" files and she was so cute walking around playing in her b-day suit. We joked that she better not pee, and what do you know, while playing under the highchair, she crawled out and there on the carpet was an Olivia size pee spot. Lulu still puts her to shame though!!

One cute thing that she did yesterday was while we were watching TV she likes to stand and touch the screen and on occasion she will hit one of the buttons and switch the input signal so we get white noise on the TV. Well, the volume was a little louder than normal and she got button happy and hit the signal button, the white noise came on real loud and startled her. She stood there for about 10 seconds with a scared look on her face so I went over to her and said "see, that is what happens" and then she burst into tears. It was pretty cute, and pathetic at the same time.
Tonight was pretty monumental (at least to me.) Olivia had her first full slice of my homemade pizza. We started out giving her a sliver, then Brooke decided a regular size piece may be better because she wouldnt choke on it. Well, we never expected her to eat the whole thing, just play with it, but about 10 minutes later, the pizza was gone. She loved it. She is definitively my daughter.

Lazy Saturday

Today we went to the grand opening of our local Cross Fit gym. I have a few friends that are members and since they had a free BBQ for anyone that stopped by I figured that would be a good way to kill an hour on a Saturday. Olivia put on a cute little pink outfit and we went together to Cross Fit and hung out for a while. After that, we went to Walmart, got some food on the way home, and then spent the rest of the day playing around the house.
Olivia's schedule did not allow us to go the the first home PC football game today. I wanted to make an appearance and watch at least a quarter of the game, but it just wasnt in the cards. We will try to make it at homecoming though.

You Talking To Me?

What do we do when Olivia is spending the night at Mima's? Aside from getting some work done, we watch her videos and look at her pictures. Pretty lame yes, but we MISS HER.

Here is the latest video of Olivia talking to Mommy. She had a lot to say and wanted to get her point across. No, she was not upset, she was smiling the whole time.

Grandma and Grandpa

First off, as you can see from the left, Olivia is now bigger than Chili. Because of this we have a lot of jammies that dont fit her anymore, and instead of letting them go to waste, we figured that since Chili shivers and shakes all the time, we would just pass them on to him so he can stay snuggly and cuddly now that winter is approaching. He wasn't too amused....

Grandma and Grandpa got into town Saturday afternoon to a sleeping Olivia. She had not been herself since Friday. We think she either has an ear infection, or her teeth are hurting. We laid her down right before they got here so she would be well rested and in a good mood. G&G as I will refer to them from here on out got to the house around 2:00 and we waited about an hour for Olivia to wake up. We decided to just get her up so she would not sleep too long and not be ready for her bedtime. Olivia was all smiles when she woke up and saw Mommy, Daddy, and G&G all in her room. She didn't know what to think about it at first, but quickly got excited at all the attention.
G&G brought her a new activity station toy. It is a stand that has a few musical instruments on it. You can push keys on a piano, "strum" a guitar, hit a drum etc. She loved it, and played with it all weekend. She even would dance when it was making its music.
After playing a bit, we went to our local Mexican restaurant and had dinner, at which she was very well behaved.
We got home and put her to bed and all retired for the night.
Sunday we met back up around 9:00 and all headed to Waffle House for breakfast. Olivia was great again in her highchair. We opted out of going to Greenville or Columbia because Olivia just didn't like being in her car-seat, this weekend and an hour drive with her crying was not something we were looking forward to.
We spent the rest of the day playing with Olivia and visiting. After Olivia's nap, we went to Fatz for dinner and again Olivia was great. It was a big eating out weekend for her and she made us proud.
We had a great time as I am sure G&G did as well. They got to see Olivia walk even, and not just 2 or 3 steps, but real walks. Below are some pictures of their visit.
Brooke may be taking Olivia to the doctor's office today if she doesn't show signs of feeling better. My money is on an ear infection. We shall see!!

Puny Livi

Olivia has been feeling very puny and even somewhat needy yesterday and today. However, she is also indecisive as to what she wants. She cries to be picked up, then cries when picked up, then cries when put down and it goes on and on. I think she is either getting a cold or she is in pain from cutting teeth. This is definitively not the normal Livi.
Grandma and Grandpa should be getting in today around 2:00 or 3:00. I hope Olivia gets some of her old spunk back by then.

P.S. Check out this crazy sleep position we found her in the other night. I had to go in and snap a picture. She didn't even notice the flash

Crazy Face

Along with her new found walking skills, Olivia has been enjoying making new crazy faces. We captured a lot of her crazy faces but some were just too weird to post. So here is one of them.

Olivia has also got another tooth coming in. It is on her bottom right side, right next to the ones that are already in. The only problem, is it is looking like some sort of shark tooth. Not in shape, but in location. It is growing in about 1/8 inch behind where it should be (which in a baby's mouth is a lot.) I think I need to start saving up for baby braces, because man, it is a jacked tooth so far!! Either that or we are going to have some sort of shark/human hybrid. The way she goes after her Cherios, I don't doubt that. I'll keep you posted.
