Closed Finally

We finally closed on the house.  It was a major fiasco, from the beginning to the end, but it is done.  In the middle of closing they realized that the appraiser didn’t sign off on the certificate of occupancy because the gas meter wasn’t in when he was there, so they had to hold the keys until they got a call from him.  From about 2:30 – 4:00  we couldn’t get into the house.  Didn’t help that it was 90+ degrees and we were moving all the flooring from the street to inside.  The flooring people surprised us and made delivery a few days early, so it became a mad rush to get a crying baby up to Simpsonville last minute and sign for the floors.  After they were delivered, I had to move them into the garage to get them out of the street, but because we didn’t yet have keys, I couldn’t move them inside.  So, with 3,000 pounds of flooring:

Now we are off to install the floors, hang the blinds, install the garage door opener, and get a fence done.  The joys of home ownership!!  (Livi loves and throws out her classic Livi pose.)

Busy

Sorry, been busier than normal with year end stuff and house coming.  Here are a few Jake and Lee pics for you.

 

Live Smiles

I had a chance to video Jake smiling a bit.  More fun to see them in a video rather than in pictures.  Jake is doing great, usually wakes up once a night to eat.  He is a good boy!

 

Dress Up And Dancing

Livi saw a little girl (probably about 2) do a ballerina routine on tv the other night, and copied it, and it was so funny.  So the next day she dressed up and we had her imitate it a bit.  Our little entertainer.

Present From Florida

Michelle got Jake and Olivia some fun stuff last week.  Jake got a bunch of cute socks and Livi got some fun dress-up items.  Lots of Hello Kitty gear.

Surprise Visit

Brooke’s Aunt Debbie came into town for a visit unexpectedly.  Livi took the day off and they all went to Columbia to hang out at Mima’s house.  They had a good day.

Does She Love Him?

If anyone was wondering if Livi still loved her little brother Jake, this video will answer that question.  This is pretty much how she is around him all the time.

The Bus

This week is bible study week at First Baptist Church for Olivia’s building.  For those that got their permission slips signed, they get to go on a bus to the church and do singing, dancing and bible study.  Olivia was so excited about taking the bus all weekend, it was all she talked about.

We put Olivia down for sleep like normal Sunday night and she was very good because she knew if she was not, she would not get to ride the bus with the other kids.  Around 10:30 I headed back to put her on the potty as I usually do, when I noticed she was soaked.  She had peed the entire bed.  I had to turn on the light and wake her up, and she was shaking a lot because she was cold.  Right about the time I had the sheets ripped off and Olivia undressed to give a quick shower, Jake started shrieking, and Brooke was in the shower.  I started the bath, then gave Jake a pacifier, then went back to help Lee.  In the mean time, Brooke had to come out of the shower with conditioner in her hair to help settle Jake down while I rinsed a shivering little Lee down in the tub.  It was a disaster.  Once we got Lee back in bed, I was able to take Jake so Brooke could finish her shower.

In the morning, I had to wake Olivia up because she was so tired from the night’s experiences.  She was very excited though, knowing it was bus day.  We got all packed up and pulled into school and started walking in the door, but one of the buses was ready to go and they called Lee over to get on that bus.  Lee looked confused when I told her to just get on the bus and I would put her backpack away for her.  It was out of her normal routine, but she snapped out of it and ran happily to the bus.  I put her backpack in her locker and was able to follow get back in my car as the bus was pulling out.  I followed the bus all the way until I had to pull into work. I hope she has fun this week!!  Tomorrow will be less hectic, she will know what to expect.

More House

The house is getting close to being done.  We went last weekend and they were doing paint touchup inside.  Thursday 7th they were grading the lot.  We close on the 26th, getting very close.

Smiling Jake

We got a few smiles recently from Jake.  He is starting to get a little more interactive now.  Doing great on sleeping as well, for his age that is.  Brooke has been able to do a lot of errands and traveling with him and he remains very good in the car and at the stores.  If he is fussy, she feeds him and he goes back to sleep.  Very different from how Lee was (is.)

Tacos

Livi had her first taco the other night.  She was excited and ate a few bites until she bit into the refried beans.  She immediately got a sour look on her face and said “ewww, I bit into peanut butter, I don’t want peanut butter on my taco.”  She spit the rest out.  Such a pick girl, but I don’t blame her, I was the same way with beans up until a few years ago.
