Go Karts

We went to Frankie’s Fun Park Sunday.  Kids got to play video games, run around, and have fun.  Olivia got to drive a go-kart for the fist time too and did real well.  The only problem she had was on her final lap they told her to hit the break and she forgot where it was so she just “slammed” into the wall to stop.  She thought it was hilarious.  Jake had a good time too but was very upset that Olivia got to go on the karts and not him so there was a lot of crying during those laps.

Softball

Brooke was invited to a “Professor Appreciation Day” last week where a softball player calls out their favorite professor and brings them out on the field.  She decided to bring Olivia along as well to see the game.  Olivia and Benjamin got to go out on the field as well and get in the pictures.  She is such a ham..

After getting her picture taken, Olivia got to play a little softball for the first time.  She had a blast and we have been playing on the backyard as well on the weekends.  She is pretty good at it.

Pizza Night

Sunday night we did our first home made pizza night since we have been in the new house.  It was a long time coming.   Brooke, Jake and I liked it, but as usual, Olivia was not amused.  She did enjoy making the pizza at least.  She didn’t care for eating the pizza though and kept asking where the “big” slices were.  You can tell how unamused she is in the one picture where she is eating.

Scooter

Jake has finally taken to his scooter after watching Olivia ride hers.  He is doing a good job on it too.  Just needs to get the steering down a little better.

St. Patrick’s Day

Olivia was really looking forward to St. Patty’s day again this year.  She remembers all the mischief that the little leprechaun caused last year and also the chocolate gold coins.  Well, he appeared last night.  I was woken up at 2:00 in the morning by a wide eyed Lee excitedly telling me that he had been in her room and there were clothes all over the floor and a big mess.  I was hoping she wouldn’t find it until the morning, but either way, it was fun watching how excited she was in the middle of the night.  And I am kind of surprised the whole situation didn’t freak her out a little more.

Polite Jake

We have been working on Jake’s manners at the kitchen table.  He is actually pretty good about it.  We keep asking him to try and say “may I be excused please.”  He says what we think is that, but he also gets really excited to say “hand” and put out his hand, because he wants you to help him down from the table.  So really, all we get is “blah blah blah blah… HAND!!” but at least we know what he is meaning to say.
