Thanksgiving 2011

We are bummed that we didn’t take many pictures on Thanksgiving.  No family shots or even good Livi shots.  Seems that the kitty getting covered in silly bands was the picture highlight this year.  Either way, we had a fun Thanksgiving and ate lots of turkey.

We did some dancing before heading down to Lexington.

Dancing to the Rockettes.

2nd Bday

Livi had a great time for her second birthday.  This is the birthday where Auntie Steph came to see her, and Livi always loves that.  Steph and CJ got into town Thursday evening and spent Friday sight-seeing.  Saturday they headed up to Clinton to visit with Olivia   We had a great time.  Had lunch at Steamers, toured PC and went to the Thornwell Farm.

After we got back, there was a package from Steph and Matt on our porch.  A birthday present that had been on backorder.  We decided to let Olivia open it right away and she loved it.  Watch how she immediately knows that it is a phone AND where the power switch is.  I don’t think I would have found it that fast.

After opening the present we headed down to Lexington to have dinner with Mima and Grandpa.  This is when Olivia received her special present from Auntie Steph and CJ.

She loved it and really got the hang of it the next day.  How is it that she has a nicer car than me??

After playing with her car, we headed in to eat dinner.  Dinner was followed by Olivia obnoxiously singing Soul Sister by Train (one of her favorite songs.)

After the cupcake sugar high, we headed home.  Livi was very tired from her long day and curled up with her blanket.  Such a cutie.

The Bear

Olivia loves coloring on her new bear that Grandma and Grandpa got her for her birthday.  I am hoping she doesn’t start grabbing crayons and getting any ideas for her other toys!!

More Birthday

We have to have a post of the "Happy Birthday" song don't we?  She loved it and looks so cute if I say so myself.

Number 3

DSC_2523-1Sunday was Livi’s 3rd Birthday.  Such a big girl now.  The day started off with me singing “Happy Birthday” to her when I went in to get her out of bed.  She loved it, well, she loved more that I was acknowledging that it was her birthday than my singing.  We then proceeded to Waffle House where she had her usual meal.

After we got back from Waffle House she was ready to open some presents.  We decided to do presents from us at home so she could have something to open first thing in the morning, to satisfy her until after nap.  She really enjoys opening presents now and loved every second of it.

After nap (there really was no sleeping during this nap), we headed down to Lexington to Mima and Boto’s house for the real party.  She was very excited!

There was no messing around, she walked in the door and started opening a present.  We had to stop her for 1 minute while we put stuff up and got the camera ready.  After that, it was off to the races.  Paper flying everywhere and chaos.  Well, not really, she was actually pretty good about opening everything.  She loved all her gifts.

After opening presents, we went outside and played a bit, since it was such a beautiful day.  Olivia played with her large balloons for a while and ended up popping two of them and laughing hysterically at it.  Nothing scares that girl.

After playing outside it was time to eat dinner and then CAKE!!  Olivia got another round of Happy Birthday sung to her and then got to finally eat her Birthday Cake the she has been waiting for for so long.

More Halloween

Sunday was pumpkin carving day.  Check out Brooke’s mad skillz at carving a jack-o-lantern (no still pics of finished product, only video.)  Livi was impressed, but not so much with the “pumpkin goop.”

Also, just so you can get an idea of how focused and how all business Livi was Halloween night, here is a quick video.

Halloween

DSC_2206We had another fun Halloween.  Livi really had the hang of it this year.  Once she started, there was no stopping her.  Every house we left, she would ask “are we going to the next house mommy?”  Last year it took a lot of houses for her to get warmed up, but this year, she was running to doors before anyone else, leaving everyone behind.  There were quite a few moments where Olivia was standing looking at giant doors all by herself with nobody around yet.  There was one house the she ran up to, they opened the door and she ran inside.  She was on a whole other level this year!

The night started with a party at a friend’s house, where there were food and treats.  Afterwards, we left from there to go trick-or-treating.  We started out as a big group, but thinned out as the night went on, with Olivia leading most of the clan.  Near the end of the evening we were walking by a house that had its lights off and one of the girls happened to look out the window recognize Brooke as her professor and opened the door to say “hi”, and Olivia immediately turned around and ran up the steps and said “trick-or-treat.”  She never missed an opportunity.
