Dolphin

Brooke found a slug in the back yard the other day, and showed it to Jake.  Unlike his sister, he was a little hesitant to see it, and certainly didn’t want to touch it.  He thought it was a “dolphin”.  Too funny.

The Big 3

Jake turned 3 Thursday.  We had a small celebration at home with cake and a few gifts.  We will have a party next weekend when Auntie Stephie, Uncle CJ and Emma are in town.

When Jake saw his candles we told him to blow them out, but he decided to put one out with his finger.  He got a surprise when he felt how hot it was, and he burnt his little finger pretty bad.  Got a little blister from it even.  Poor Jake.

 

The Mind of a 6 Year-Old

Olivia went to the Zoo with School last Wednesday, and started to learn about extinction.  For some reason, she thinks that people that speak different languages are extinct, especially “Indians”.

 

St. Patrick’s Day

Today was St. Patrick’s Day, and the leprechaun didn’t disappoint.  He was up to his mischief again.  He also has a new nickname, Jake can’t say leprechaun, so he calls him “corn”.  Made me laugh.  He also calls lucky charms “monkey charms”.

 

Day Before Valentines Day

Livi and Jake received a package from Grandma and Grandpa for Valentines day.  We let them open it early.

Christmas At Mima and Botow’s

After we opened presents at home (and we unfortunately ran out of time opening Santa’s gifts) we headed over to Mima and Botow’s to open presents and have dinner.  We had a great time and got to see Auntie Stephie and Uncle C.J. as well.

The best pic of the day had to be when Olivia opened the book titled “The Book With No Pictures.”  She was happy to open a book, then sounded the title out, realized it had no pictures.  The look says it all.

Christmas Morning

We had a great Christmas, the kids are really at the perfect age.  It was actually quite chaotic, but I guess that is to be expected.  Olivia got everything she wanted and then some, as did Jake.  Two days after and there is still fighting over toys.  Olivia seems to want Jake’s toys and Jake wants Olivia’s toys, until they notice each other playing with the other’s stuff, then there is arguing.

We started out opening Santa’s gifts in the morning.  Luckily there was no 4:00 wake up for us.  The kids both slept in and we were able to get them up at our leisure.

We took too long opening in the morning, so had to leave the non-Santa stuff for later as we had to get to Mima and Botow’s house.

We had a fun time opening at Mima and Botows and got to see Anutie Stephie and Uncle C. J. as well.  We had a small problem with Ruby, who had to take a trip to the animal emergency hospital on Christmas Day since she was pooping blood.  As of now, all seems to be good with her, she may have just eaten something wrong, as the tested for Parvo, worms and other stuff and all was negative.  She has a great appetite at least and is looking a lot better today.  It may have just run its course.
