When Mima bought Olivia her little dress up box and costumes back around Halloween, we figured she would play with them right away. We were wrong. As with most things, Olivia lagged in her interest in playing dress up. This changed a few days back when Brooke decided to bring the box out again as something for Livi to do when the babysitter was here. Turns out she now loves it. I think the mirror sees her now more than we do. She still does not like wearing anything that goes on over her head, but if she can put her arms through it and we fasten it on the back, she is game.

Little Red Trike
We decided to try out a tricycle for the Lee since she is getting to that age. We found a Radio Flyer that had handles that I could use to push and steer her if I wanted. The handles come off for future use. She has no idea how to pedal yet, but she will get there, it will just take some practice. She loves being on it though. This might be a good weekend to take her for a long ride on it.

Auntie Stephie
What does Lee’s face look like when she hears that she gets to see her Auntie Stephie this weekend?
Nuff said?

A Mile In My Shoes
Yesterday we were lounging around and Livi saw my shoes on the floor and decided that it would be fun to walk in them. She donned my shoes and then my hat and paraded around in them for a while. It was an awkward strut that she had but she did well. When all was done, she grabbed her little high heels and showed us how it was done. Oh, and we got her that hula hoop at the store the other day and she doesn’t seem to like it much. She calls it her “jumping rope.” I guess it is kind of the same color as her jump rope.

Time Change
I really dislike the time change. Not for losing sleep, but mainly because waking up when there is no light is hard. I like having a sliver of light from outside to help me know it is time. Livi doesn’t seem to mind it either, except that she can’t seem to get tired now at the time she is supposed to. Her usual “6:30 crazies” are now happening between 5:30 and 6:00. Take the following bath video. On a normal occasion, she would be quietly playing with her toys and winding down for bed… Well, not this night!! It took her over an hour to fall asleep. Time to push bed time back a bit I guess.

Sand and Water box
Since the temperature is getting warmer, it is time to bring out the sand and water table. We brought it out on Sunday and she played with it a little bit, and I let her play with it again tonight. The problem is that once she is outside, she doesn’t really care about the table, but wants to explore more. She always wants to go see the next door doggies or play in the grass. I can’t really blame her, but on a weeknight when it is 20 minutes until bedtime I don’t want her running all over the yard. Since she is two, we get to see the defiant side of her. She kept saying “I see doggies” and I kept having to say “no.” There were many attempts to see the doggies, but all failed. There was the walk slowly and then lean around the corner hoping I don’t say anything method. There was the walk real fast method. There was the wander like she accidently went past the deck threshold method. And finally the beg beg beg method. All are hard to say no to, but I had to tonight. Poor Lee, she was not too happy this evening!!
Look at those eyes, this is just as she got the idea to try for the doggies again. You can see her working her method out in her mind as she starts heading that way. This is the last picture before I started the video.

Little Artist
We got some paintbrushes and a smock for Olivia a few weeks back and this last weekend ended up being a good time to try them out. She took the the painting quickly and loved it. She actually kept pretty clean and kept the paint where it was supposed to be. Such pretty pictures!
