Today when I dropped Olivia off at Young World, all the kids ran up to Ms. Casey and said “Ms. Casey, there is a bug!!” This immediately peaked Livi’s curiosity, and she started running to where all the kids were standing. Ms. Casey said “Well, Olivia will know what do.” I watched as Livi walked into the middle of about 15 kids looking at a palmetto bug on the windowsill, and she reached down, picked it up and let it crawl all over her hand and fingers. Ms. Casey then said, “ok Olivia, lets put it outside please.” Lee walked to the door while all the kids were following her and cheering, and dropped it outside, then looked up at me with a “what is the big deal” look. The whole thing was hilarious, but the look at the end on her face was the best. It was like she could not understand why everyone was making a big deal out of it. Leave it to Livi to be that different, but she had the whole class cheering her on. My little Lee!!

Kittens
Our neighbor (and work colleague) just got some baby kittens. She invited Livi over to see them, and Lee was excited. She loved holding them but ended up having even more fun playing with her 10 year old son. They played hide-and-seek for about a half hour, and then chased each other around with toy swords. She really is our little tomboy.

House
We went and saw the house Friday night to take some measurements so we could start shopping this weekend (Memorial Day sales.) for appliance, furniture, etc. It is coming along!
We had dinner at Moe’s and then headed back home. Saturday Livi and Jake are sleeping over at Mima and Botow’s house, party night for Me and B!!

Hula Fun
Lee loves her hula hoop. Some days she actually tries to hula with it, other days she likes to just roll it and see how far it can go. I am really impressed with how good she is at it and she isn’t even really trying. She is a natural.

Rain
Olivia and I went up to look at the house again on Sunday. They are moving right along. The trim is all in now and the cabinets were all in boxes in the living room. It was raining very hard, so Livi decided it was time to learn how to use a “gumbrela”. She did a great job.
After playing at the house for a bit, we went to the playground, it was very wet but Livi didn’t really care. I told her as long as she didn’t sit or slide on anything she would be fine.

Night Terrors
Last night I was planning on doing my normal routine of carrying Olivia to the potty for a final pee before I go to bed. She is impossible to wake up, so to keep her out of diapers, we put her on the potty in the middle of the night to get her empty so she can make it the rest of the way. About 10 minutes before I was going to go in, we heard her talking about how her belly hurt. She wasn’t calling us, but sort of talking to herself. I decided since she was sort of awake, that would be a good time to get her. I went in and started asking if she wanted to sit on the potty, but didn’t get a coherent response, then she started getting mad and crying. I decided to let her fall back asleep and I would get her in another half hour. She never settled down so Brooke went in to soothe her. Things just got worse. Brooke tried to get her out of bed to rock with her but Livi just went ballistic, screaming, hitting her face, kicking and rolling on the floor. She would calm down a little, and we would ask what she wanted, which would send her into another fit. We were seriously worried she was having seizures. Any touch or word from us would send her over the edge, she was speaking gibberish and crying and thrashing. We had to pull her away from the bed so she would not hit her head or hands on the edge. Near the very end, I turned on the hall light to be able to see better and maybe snap her out of it, she then screamed, stood up, ran down the hall, turned off the light, then ran back into the room and laid on the floor again crying. After about 10 minutes (I think??) Brooke was able to get Olivia to agree to lay in our bed for a while.
After Livi got in our bed, it was like a switch went off in her head. She was smiling and everything was back to normal. We all went out and watched some cartoons in the living room to get her tired again, then were able to get her back to bed. She fell asleep right away and there were no more problems. In the morning, she was her old sweet Lee again. But last night, it was like watching The Exorcist. She was some kind of wild animal, and it was pretty scary to us. It was not our little Lee lying on the floor, but something else. I hope this doesn’t become a normal occurrence. We shall see.
Here is some video of the sweet Lee we know singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Jake to calm him down.
