More Meaning

Lately, Olivia’s little words and phrases are expressing more meaning than usual.  For example, this morning I was changing her diaper, and wiping her and she started whining like usual, but this time between whines, she kept saying “cold, cold.” Kind of cool to know why she is upset as opposed to just hearing the whining.  She will also whine and point to her little scab on her knee and say “boo-boo.”

She still is not doing that great at letters and numbers, but is improving.  Now I won’t say she doesn’t know them, rather, she just prefers not to say them.  The reason I know this is if it is something she really likes, she picks it up fast.  She loves to hang from my pullup bars and always comes up to me and says “hang please, please” (still repeats the please) so I was letting her hang a little then thought she would like the foam part of the handle so said “Here, grab the fuzzy.”  Now that she did that, she now always says “hang please, please, fuzzy, please, please” and that was after only once saying fuzzy.  She knows things, just chooses to share what she wants us to know that she knows.  Smarty!!

We have also been letting Olivia occasionally sit with us at the table when we eat instead of having to sit in her highchair.  She loves it, but still won’t sit still for long.  We will keep trying, I look forward to booster seat days at restaurants instead of highchairs.

More Dancing

Does anyone get tired of dancing videos?  I know I post a lot of them but until they get boring to ME, I will continue to do so.

Here is more of Livi just having a good time.  Not sure what the screams are about!

Lets Get Cleaning

Olivia had a pair of yellow kitchen gloves to play with the other day.  She came up to me and said “please” so I put one on her, she screamed with laughter, so I put the second one on her.  She loved it and started waving with her big yellow hand saying “Hello, hello.”  All she needs to do now is get those gloved hands on some dishes!!

Happy Birthday Dogo

Olivia sang a special Birthday song for Auntie Steph.  Well, attempted to sing, but I think she did well.

Feeding Daddy

Olivia loves feeding things to people or animals.  Recently she decided to feed me her popcorn (which surprises me because she loves her popcorn.)  She loved it when I would take it from her real fast.  I don’t mind her feeding us stuff, but don’t like that she is getting into the habit of giving the dogs snacks.

Moving On Up

Olivia has been slowly acclimating to room 4 in Young World.  This is another step up with bigger kids.  She has also been sleeping on a cot and received a certificate for doing so.  The teacher in that room says she loves Livi (how can you not?) and brags about how good she is.  Livi is a super star.  Along with that, we were assigned to buy tons of crafts supplies for Young World which excites us that she will be doing more fun stuff this year in her new room!

On another note, Olivia’s “Please” and “Thank you” are going great.  She says both unsolicited most of the times.  She has also gotten to like those little otter pops more and more and asks for them by saying “ice please, ice please”  and there is typically a little fit thrown if we say “no” but at least she is asking nicely.

Not a whole lot is new since we got back from Florida.  I am juggling getting my new laptop setup so it is cutting into my blog time, but soon I will start posting again steadily.

In the mean time, enjoy some video of one of Olivia’s crazy dancing nights in Florida.

Video Monitor Saves The Night

Last night we put Olivia down as usual.  The night time routine went with out any problems.  After Brooke left Livi’s room, we sat on the couch and Brooke noticed that Olivia was still sitting up, which is unusual.  She normally will lie down, sit up, squirm then go to sleep, but this time she was just sitting there.  Brooke got up and looked close at the monitor and noticed something strange looking in the crib so figured she may have spit up a little bit.  When she got in the room it was more than she bargained for.  Olivia had thrown up a lot.  The smell was awful and it looked disgusting.  Was all over the sheets, her hair, and her stuffed animals.  It was time for some serious cleanup.

I grabbed Livi and took her to the bath, clothes and all.  Brooke started striping the sheets.  As I was bathing Livi, she made a “sigh” noise for a long time and I started imitating it.  Then as she breathed out I did the same and it sent her into a giant giggle fest where she would do her little shock face and breathe in and I would copy her, then blow out at her.  I have not heard her giggle this hard in a while.  We got a little of it on video when she got out of the tub but it didn’t do it any justice.

After getting a new dipe and new jammies, she headed back to bed and went right to sleep.
