Memorial Day

We had a fun Memorial Day this weekend.  Sunday we went down to Rob and Marcia’s to have lunch and work on the new deck.  Auntie Steph was also coming down for the day.  We left early so we would have plenty of awake Livi time.

When we got there, Rob and I went to work on the deck and everyone else played with Olivia.  We had trouble because the rain kept coming off and on and we would have to adjust working around it.  We put Olivia down for her nap and went and got pizza for lunch.  As we sat around eating we listened as Olivia struggled with falling asleep.  It was one of those days for here where she just didn’t want to nap.  At one point she was very quiet, but Steph heard some quiet rustling, like wrapping paper or something, so Brooke snuck up to see what was going on.  Olivia had somehow reached her baby wipes on the bed and pulled each wipe out one by one.

It was a mess, but we salvaged it by putting them all in a plastic bag and have been using them at home for little Livi messes.  I think she thought that with all of us coming into the room and seeing the mess that she was free from her nap, but she was VERY disappointed when we laid her back down and left the room.  Livi did eventually fall asleep and slept for a short time at least.

When Olivia got up we all went up stairs and played some pool.  She loves watching the balls on the table, and really loves it when they fall in the pockets (which doesn’t happen much when I am shooting.)

She also loved the rain and thunder.  She made her excited face a lot and Steph put her on the window sill and she got to get a first hand view of all the rain.

It was a fun Memorial Day.  Just think, exactly one year ago today Olivia was taking her first crawling steps in the same upstairs family room.  Such a big girl!

I LOVE IT! I can't get enough of that video...and that pic of her looking over the pool table on her tippy toes...is adorable!

All you see are 2 eyebrows raised as high as they can go and the smallest sliver of an eye trying to watch the pool table. Love it.

and that big "O" shaped mouth on her face with the noise is priceless. Learning new things every day!
